Assistant Professor of Psychology

 

Prof. Yuvaraj S. joined NLU, Nagpur as an Assistant Professor of Psychology in July 2022. He is graduated in Psychology from Presidency College, Chennai. He is currently pursuing his doctorate in University of Madras. He has 12 years of teaching experience served in St. Thomas College of Arts and Science, Chennai, Madras School of Social Work, Chennai and Christ University, Bangalore. He also worked as a Research Assistant, Dept. of Psychology, University of Madras for the Project Sanctioned by Tamilnadu Prison Dept., Government of Tamilnadu on “Impact of Capacity Building for Rehabilitation of Prisoners”. He works in the areas of Counselling especially focusing on the adolescent issues, pre-marital counselling,and career and higher studies planning. Yuvaraj completed his Basic Counselling Skills from renowned Gerard Egan's student, Dr. Emma Gonsalvez. He Completed TA101 training accredited by International Transactional Analysis Association and also done 3 years of training in Transactional Analysis. To his credits, he also served as an Addl. Controller of Examinations in Madras School of Social Work, Chennai for 2 years and 6 months. He is also a Trainer for Handwriting, Memory Techniques, Calligraphy, Vedic Maths, Stress Management, Conflict Resolution and Management & Motivational Training for both students and teachers. He presented various research papers in National and International Conferences. He has 2 Scopus Indexed, 1 UGC Indexed, 1 International Peer reviewed and 4 conference proceedings for his publication credits. He is a peer reviewer for Current Psychology which is both Scopus and Web of Science Indexed Journal. His research interest areas were positive psychology, offender rehabilitation, adolescent/emerging adults’ skill enhancement and tool construction.
