Dr. Veena Roshan Jose

Assistant Professor of Law

 

Dr. Veena Roshan Jose joined Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur, as an Assistant Professor of Law in November, 2021. Prior to joining MNLU, shewasworking as an Assistant Professor of Human Rights Law and was also the head of Centre for Law, Ethics and Biomedicine and the Centre for Research in Environmental Law at Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh

 

Dr. Veena has completed her graduationin Law from the Faculty of Law, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. She completed herpost-graduation from the Faculty of Law, Cochin University of Science & Technology (CUSAT) with specialisations in Human Rights Law and Environmental Law. She has cleared her National Eligibility Test in 2011. She was awarded Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) for her research in “Commercialisation of the Human Body and Bodily Materials” from the National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Kochi.

 

Dr.Veena has more than12 years’ experience in teaching law at various Universities. Her experience in research is evident from the publications to her credit on a variety of subjects in law. She is a Member of the Editorial Board of various law journals and is also a part of Institutional Ethics Committees in various medical schools.She is regularly invited as a speaker and resource person for Conferences and Workshops, especially on issues related to Human Rights,Medical Law, and Environmental Law. She coordinated the Postgraduate Diploma Course in Medical Law & Ethics at NUALS for three years, and taught Medical Law & Ethics and Law &Forensic Science. She is also a regularly invited Resource Person for CME’s and Conferences for the medical practitioners and healthcare professionals. She is also associated with the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Kerala, in drafting policy documents relating to organ donation and brain-stem death certification.
