- Sportacus 3.0-Annual Intra-Sports Event of the University held from January 24-27, 2019
The Third Edition of Sportacus was organized over 4 days in January, 2019 and consisted of 11 indoor and outdoor sports. An inaugural ceremony was organised at the University with Shri Prashant Vaidya, a former Indian Cricketer and presently Vice-President of Vidarbha Cricket Association, as the Guest of Honour. The ceremony opened with the welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Vice Chancellor of University who also proposed a new Course on Sports Law which the University would offer in the future. This was followed by Dr. Manish Yadav, Faculty Convener, Sports Committee informing the gathering about this edition's unique segment, the Cricket Auction which was conducted for the selection of cricket teams for Sportacus 3.0. Prof. Shreya Mishra appreciated the work of the Committee in organizing the fest and outlined the progress it had made since the first edition. The Guest of Honour, Shri. Prashant Vaidya shared his valuable life experiences and emphasised the importance of sports in life. He also declared Sportacus 3.0 open and conferred the Committee members with badges in the investiture ceremony. The members also took a pledge where they promised to uphold the spirit of sports and honour of the university. The inaugural ceremony culminated with the Prof. Ramesh K. Chamarti, Registar(I/c) and OSD (Academics) offering a vote of thanks to Shri. Prashant Vaidya for gracing the occasion and the Committee for organizing Sportacus 3.0.
